Scale the Summit: The Migration (Prosthetic, 6/11/13)
The name of the band is Scale the Summit. The album’s title is The Migration. The first track is called “Odyssey.” Basically, a journey is at hand with the prog-metal quartet’s fourth full-length.
The voyage is through a sweeping, ever-changing sonic landscape fueled by the group’s mathy nature and wordless imagery, and like any summit-scaling, migratory odyssey, the proper tools and know-how are essential. Luckily, Scale the Summit shows an uncanny mastery in every track, ranging from the dizzying scales present on “Atlas Novus” to the fretboard blitz of album closer “The Traveler.”
