F Newsmagazine

F Newsmagazine is a monthly newsmagazine and the official student publication of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Beginning as a Contributing Writer, I progressed through roles as Staff Writer, Staff Editor, Music Editor and Co-Managing Editor.
F News had not had a functioning Music section in over five years until my re-establishment through a column, album reviews, live concert coverage and recruitment of new, music-focused writers. Additionally, I contributed to the Arts and Features sections as a writer, and came to become a Co-Managing Editor, organizing our monthly publication weekend sessions through leadership of the editorial staff and close collaboration with the art department.
I often cite my time with F News as wholly formative and one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The risks that this group was willing to regularly take on an editorial and design basis continue to inform my drive to experiment and push current standards.
